Detailed Description

The quartz plunger is an important functional component in the glass feeder, which is mainly used to stir, guide or control the flow of molten glass to ensure the uniformity and precision of the glass forming process. It performs well in high temperature and highly corrosive environments and is one of the key tools for high-end glass manufacturing.

Advantages

1. High temperature resistance: The melting point of quartz (SiO₂) is about 1700°C. It can work stably for a long time at high temperatures of 1200°C~1500°C without softening or deformation.

2. Thermal stability: extremely low thermal expansion coefficient (about 0.5×10⁻⁶/°C), strong thermal shock resistance, and tolerance to rapid temperature changes of molten glass.

3. Chemical inertness: does not react with molten glass to avoid contamination of glass components, especially suitable for high-purity glass (such as optical glass, borosilicate glass).

4. Mechanical strength: still maintains high hardness and bending strength at high temperatures, suitable for dynamic operations such as stirring or diversion.
